About Me

My name is  Renee Bennet and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Communications at ECU Mt Lawley.   I took a year off and worked full-time when I completed school so this is my first year of studying.  With the rest of my time I dance and casually work at the Breakwater Tavern.

I have been dancing since the age of 3 and thoroughly enjoy it.  Every year we do competitions in July against other dance schools from Perth and have our own end of year concert in December at the Burswood.  Last year I was luckily enough to travel to America with a large group from our dance school and perform in LA Disneyland and Universal Studios and attend multiple class in New York.  This year I hoping to travel to Singapore for 3 weeks and perform in Suntec City depending on when my end year exams for uni finish.  I have made many life long friends from dancing and regard my dancing teacher as a second mum.

My family consists of my mum, 16 year old sister and my dad who lives overseas.   My mum and dad separated when I was 14 and my dad moved on to work in Thailand and other surrounding countries.  Leah, my sister, is still at school hoping to get into musical theatre when she finished.  My mum works at a building company called InVogue doing administration work.  I live at home with my mum and sister and see my dad on the occasions he comes to Australia or if we go to visit him overseas.

The purpose of this blog is to give a basic background of my life along with vital information about learning portfolios and how wordpress.com works.  I hope to make this blog visually appealing and easy to navigate between links and various widgets.  The information I provide about learning portfolios will hopefully educate people of their sole purpose and how they are designed.  I will use certain online articles and references from books in order to complete the learning portfolio post.  The wordpress post will give an outline including 3 main points of useful tips to follow when using the blog site.   Finally I will provide a self-evaluation table on how I think I did in completing my blog and what marks I fell I should be given.  This is the first time I have used and online blogging site and hope I will successfully create a website I can refer back to in the future as an example of my work.
